Become part of a student’s successful journey through school by walking with us this October. Together, we will wrap support around the kids in our community, every step of the way – setting them up for a lifetime of success.

Walking With Purpose is a month-long challenge to walk, as a community, 12,000 miles to raise awareness and funding for the mission of CIS: to empower students to success. Each mile has meaning: we walk in honor of the 12,000 students who are enrolled in CIS-supported schools in Kalamazoo.

Meet Ariel, Walking With Purpose Student Ambassador
Ariel is an energetic "book worm" who has worked with CIS in daytime and afterschool. Ariel loves walking to the park, feeling the air and looking at the trees. She describes CIS in one word: supportive. Ariel is very excited to be our student ambassador and being a part of something that helps people.
Resources
Walking With Purpose is a great way to get active and raise awareness and funding to support students in our community by supporting the vital mission of Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo (CIS). CIS works with students to help them overcome barriers that stand between them and a brighter future.

Cider and Scenery at Pretty Lake Camp
Our take on wine and canvas, Cider and Scenery celebrates the best of fall with beautiful scenes, autumn treats, and fun with friends in the crisp fall air. Arrive early to walk some miles on the beautiful grounds at Pretty Lake Camp.

Form a team
Team captains lead the Walking With Purpose way, making it a success every year. Being a team captain is both simple and fun. You will be provided all the tools and support that you need.
Each team blazes their own trail with Walking With Purpose. Some walk and raise funds together, some on their own, and others do both! Teams set their own goals, and all work together to ensure the goal is met. We all share the same final goal: to empower students to success.
So don’t go at it alone! Create a team with your friends, colleagues, and family. Together, you can help make a difference for kids in Kalamazoo.
