Give through your company or organization
We host many events throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, we would love to hear from you.
You can give to CIS through your charitable foundation.
Many employers will supplement your support for Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo through their matching gift program. Your volunteer hours or your gift to CIS may be eligible to be matched.

Other ways to give
Are you interested in hosting your own “Friends of CIS” fundraising event or drive? Or are you interested in making a gift to a fund that fulfills a specific need or sponsoring a specific program or school? Perhaps you would like to make an in-kind gift of clothing, personal care items, or school supplies to meet kids’ immediate needs?

Community partners are social, human, health, and educational service organizations that provide resources to children and families in the community. CIS works with community partners to bring services to students at school or by making community-based referrals.
Corporate partners are for-profit businesses that are interested in working with CIS to share people resources with students and families. Corporate partners have collaborated with CIS for group volunteer opportunities, to lead student enrichment clubs, and to plan resource drives.

Volunteer with CIS
An hour a week can change a life.
By giving your time, you can help a student in Kalamazoo stay and succeed in school, improve in math or reading, gain self-esteem and confidence, be prepared for college and a career, and fulfill their promise.
Ways to volunteer
Help kids with their math or reading, talk and laugh—and just be someone they can depend on.
Help out teachers by working with groups of students and performing tasks that keep the classroom running smoothly.
Work with individual students and small groups to build academic skills, increase self-confidence, and pursue educational goals.
Specialized interns & volunteers
Support the CIS mission through specialized roles related to our Kids’ Closet, Mobile Health Clinic, and other programs.
